      Ty's Summer Sno is known for it's shaved ice.   Although, our shaved ice are often referred to as Sno Cones, it should be noted that they are not the same thing.  In fact, they are very different.  Sno Cones are made with crushed ice, while our product is made with shaved ice.  "What's the difference?" you ask.  The difference is texture.

        When ice is crushed, the blade spins around the ice crushing it into very small, coarse pieces of ice.  Have you ever wondered why the syrup that goes on these Sno Cones always sinks right to the bottom?   It's not the syrup.  It's the ice.   There are air pockets in between those crushed ice particles, and when syrup is poured on top of that ice, it eventually makes its way through all of those air pockets and right to the bottom of the cup.

That kind of thing won't happen with our product.

        Hawaiian Shaved Ice is a unique, gourmet item.  And it is just what it says it is -- shaved.  Instead of the blade spinning around the ice crunching it into a million tiny coarse pieces, our ice spins while the blade stays stationary shaving extremely fine pieces off of the bottom of the ice.  The result is a product almost identical to freshly fallen snow.  The flavoring is absorbed and suspended in the snow to give each shaved ice a unique light and fluffy texture.

Frozen Beverages

    New to Ty's Summer Sno this year are our frozen beverages.  We are now offering Granitas, Smoothies and Milkshakes in any one or combination of our 60+ flavors.

Granitas are a lightly frozen treat that have been around since the time of the Roman empire.  The consistency is similar to that of a slush, and much like our Shaved ice, they are lower in calories and healthier than sorbet or ice cream.

Smoothies:  Our smoothies are a low fat alternative to a milkshake.  They are smoother and creamier in texture than our Granitas, but unlike many of the smoothies available on the market today, our are 100% non-dairy and 100% fat-free.

Milkshakes:  Ever had a cappuccino milkshake?  How about a Root Beer or maybe a Blueberry milkshake?  Now you can.  If it's on our flavor list, we can make it into a milkshake (or a Granita or Smoothie for that matter).  Pretty cool, huh? Come in and try one today.  You can even mix flavors and add toppings.  You're limited only by your imagination.

All of our frozen beverages come in a 16 oz. drinking cup and the prices are as follows:
Granitas:        $2.50

Milkshakes:    $3.00

Sno Sundaes

    Also new to Ty's Summer Sno this year are what we call Sno Sundaes.  The concept is very simple, it's nothing more than shaved ice with a scoop of ice cream in the bottom of the cup, but WOW!!! are they good!!!  Our Sno Sundaes are available in the same size cups as our shaved ice (with the exception of our flower cup) and the price is 50¢ more:

Small (8 oz.):                    $2.00
Med (12 oz.):                    $2.50
Large (16 oz.):                  $3.00

Toppings

    For 25¢ extra you can try any one of our three toppings.  You can choose between Chocolate topping, Caramel topping and our delicious home made cream.  Add our chocolate topping to flavors such as cherry or coconut to make "chocolate-covered cherries" or "mounds bar".  Top Green Apple with our Caramel topping to make a "caramel apple" that will make your mouth water.  Or try our home-made cream on flavors such as strawberry or peach to make "strawberries in cream" or "peaches in cream".  

Flavors

        We offer over 60 tropical and exotic flavors.  Customers have a choice of up to 2 flavors on each cup of shaved ice, or they can choose from any of our Specialty combinations.

    Our flavoring contains only the highest quality ingredients.  They have no dairy products, no fats, no caffeine, and no cholesterol.  We even offer sugar-free flavors as well.

Coffee and Frozen Cappuccino

        New to the menu this year is our Coffee, Hot Cocoa and Cappuccino.  You can get it hot or not.  To read more about our Hot Coffee and Cappuccino as well as our Baked Goods, you can visit our Hot Stuff Page.  As for our Frozen Cappuccinos, they come in four delectable flavors.
